The stream rises in the Ringelsteiner Forest northwest of the Streitberg at an altitude of 416 m above sea level. NN . Initially it flows in predominantly western directions through the Kneblinghauser Forest . It flows through the Aschenhütte nature reserve and the Romecke stream systems . At stationing kilometer 1.3 its course turns to the southwest. After 4.3 km of the river, the Romecke flows out at an altitude of 314 m above sea level. NN in the Möhne .
