Ron Morris
Ron Morris ( Ronald Hugh Morris ; born April 27, 1935 in Glendale , California ) is a retired American pole vaulter .
At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he won the silver medal with 4.60 m behind his compatriot Don Bragg (4.70 m) and in front of the Finn Eeles Landström (4.55 m).
In 1958, 1951 and 1962 he was US champion. He set his personal best of 5.03 m on July 31, 1966 in Mikkeli .
From 1960 to 1978 he was an athletics coach at California State University, Los Angeles . Since then he has been running a specialist retailer for athletics accessories.
