Ron Naspo

Ron Naspo (* around 1940) is an American musician ( double bass ) and university professor.

Live and act

Naspo had instrumental lessons from Frederick Zimmermann , Gary Karr, Homer Mensch and Alvin Brehm. He earned a master's degree in music education . In the course of his career he has worked in both jazz and classical music , with the Florida Symphony , the New Jersey Symphony and the American Symphony Orchestra (under Leopold Stokowski ) as well as with Stan Kenton , Sonny Rollins , Wild Bill Davison , Bucky Pizzarelli and Billy Maxted (1966). With the Robert Joffrey Ballet and with the Don Shirley Trio has been touring the USA and Canada.

In the field of jazz he was involved in eleven recording sessions between 1990 and 2012. a. also with Frank Basile and a joint trio with Derwyn Holder and Sue Terry ( Time Being , 1999). Naspo taught double bass, electric bass and improvisation at Montclair State University , at William Paterson College in Wayne (New Jersey) and, after his retirement, in his hometown of Montclair (New Jersey) .
