Athletic career

Although Ronald Hoch was announced in the 1977/78 and 1978/79 seasons as a player in the league team of Chemie Böhlen, he played his first point games for the first team in the 1979/80 season. At this point the team was relegated to the GDR league and was fighting for promotion. As a defender with 16 league games, one goal and stakes in all eight league promotion games with another goal, Hoch was involved in making the project come true. For the league season 1980/81 high was again nominated as a defender, but was only used in a league game for 66 minutes. In the following GDR league year 1981/82 he played only eight of the 22 point games, but was used in seven of the eight qualifying games after Bohlen had reached the promotion round again and was involved with one goal in the promotion.

However, high moved to the 1982/83 season for GDR league club Chemie Markkleeberg . After he had completed 17 of the 22 league games there, he made another change and joined the BSG Robotron Sömmerda , which also played in the GDR league. From 1983/84 the GDR league was only played in two seasons, in which 34 point games were to be played. High was used in 32 games and scored twice. Subsequently, the team was relegated to the district league , where they fought for two seasons to gain promotion, which only succeeded in 1987. Meanwhile, Hoch was 31 years old and went into his final season as a competitive athlete in 1987/88. He was determined as the team captain, but could only play 17 of the 34 GDR league games. After he had announced his resignation, he was able to refer to a record of one league game (without a goal), 112 GDR league games (three goals) and 15 promotion games (two goals).
