The Ronne Basin is a lake basin in the Weddell Sea off the Lassiter coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies west of the Smith Peninsula and north of the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf .

It has been named since 1997 at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute based on the name of the neighboring ice shelf. Its namesake is next to the German geophysicist and polar explorer Wilhelm Filchner, the US polar explorer Finn Ronne (1899–1980).
