The Dresden III constituency was a state electoral district for the state election in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. It had constituency number 41. For the state elections in 1994 , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of ​​the Dresden III constituency became part of one of the six constituencies in the Dresden city area.

The constituency area comprised parts of the boroughs south and west , which corresponded to the residential districts 633 to 636, 639 to 647, 653, 664, to 703 and 802 to 822.
