Ronny Kirchhof

Ronny Kirchhof (born January 9, 1969 in Lichterfeld ) is a former German cyclist and junior world champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Kirchhof began his career in the BSG Aufbau Lichterfeld . In 1983 he moved to SC Cottbus . In 1985 he won gold in the sprint and 1000-meter time trial at the children and youth spartakiad in the Youth A age group . He won his first championship title on the Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle track in Berlin , when he won the GDR winter track championship in the sprint and 1000-meter time trial in youth A in January 1986 . With a special permit he took part in the International Sprinter Championship in Berlin and was only defeated by Lutz Heßlich in the final. The greatest success of his career followed in 1987, when he became the junior world champion in the 1000-meter time trial at the UCI track world championship. In 1988 and 1989 he won the silver medal in this discipline at the GDR championship.
