Ronny Zimmermann (born March 19, 1961 as Ronald Zimmermann ) is a German lawyer and sports official .

Ronny Zimmermann studied law at Heidelberg University and has been working as an independent lawyer in his law firm in Wiesloch (Baden-Württemberg) since 1992. His main areas of activity are civil law (in particular contract law , internet law , association law and debt recovery).

Athletic career

Ronny Zimmermann began his career as a footballer with SG Tairnbach (1974-1975). At VfB Wiesloch, he went through almost all youth teams in the following years and went on the hunt for goals as a striker in the Baden Association League. In total, he wore the Wiesloch jersey for ten years before moving to VfB Leimen (1989-1991) after one season (1988-1989) with the then national league club TSV Handschuhsheim, with whom he rose to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga. In the winter of 1991, Ronny Zimmermann returned to his roots as a player at VfB Wiesloch, where he ended his active career in the late 1990s. Parallel to his time as an active footballer, he also shaped the fate of the club from 1994 to 2001 as 2nd chairman and since then as an assessor on the board of VfB Wiesloch.

Badischer Football Association

Ronny Zimmermann was appointed to the board of the Badischer Fußballverband (bfv) at the age of 34 while he was still employed as the second chairman of VfB Wiesloch . At the bfv he was also chairman of the statutes committee for ten years. On the occasion of the Association Day of the bfv in 2001, the delegates finally elected Ronny Zimmermann as Vice President alongside the then President Gerhard Seiderer. In 2004 he succeeded the bfv as the fifth president. In 2007 and 2010, Ronny Zimmermann was unanimously confirmed in his office at the Association Day of the bfv in the Schöneck sports school . In 2013 the unanimous re-election as bfv president followed in the town hall of Buchen. Also in 2016 he was unanimously confirmed in office by the delegates of the Association Day in St. Leon-Rot.

Ronny Zimmermann moved to the board of the South German Football Association (SFV) in 2004 . At the 28th SFV Association Day on October 12, 2014 in Freiburg, Zimmermann was unanimously re-elected as Vice President alongside President Rainer Koch by the delegates. German Football Association

In addition to his function as a member of the bfv, Ronny Zimmermann was a member of the advisory board of the German Football Association (DFB) from 2004 to 2007 . After a three-year term on the DFB advisory board, Ronny Zimmermann was elected to the board of the DFB in 2007, to which he still belongs today. In 2012, the DFB Presidium appointed Ronny Zimmermann to the Board of Trustees of the Sepp Herberger Foundation . The appointment to the board of trustees of the DFB Stiftung Sepp-Herberger was again made by the executive committee in 2016 and 2019. FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in Germany

Ronny Zimmermann was chairman of the Sinsheim branch of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in Germany. As chairman of the Sinsheim location - the smallest World Cup city among the nine venues - he and his team organized the preparations up to and including the staging of a total of four World Cup games in Sinsheim, including the third place match.
