Rory Six

Rory Six is a Belgian musical performer, singer, dancer and composer.

Life

Born in Belgium, Rory Six began his vocal training in 1998. He took lessons with Pascale de Turck at the Royal Ballet of Flanders, which was soon followed by training at the Fontys Stageschool in Tilburg (singing with Edward Hoepelman). There he played the title role in the musical Joe .

Musical career

After completing his studies, Six played alternately the brother Lorenzo and the Prince of Verona in the Belgian and Dutch tours of Romeo and Juliet . He has also appeared on stage as a soloist in various shows, for example Musical from the heart or Broadway's Spirit of Christmas .

The internationally active artist celebrated his debut in Germany as part of the ensemble, as well as cover Marius with Les Misérables in the Theater des Westens in Berlin. Then, in addition to his part in the ensemble, he was on stage as cover Rudolf with Elisabeth at the Apollo Theater in Stuttgart. In the Swiss premiere he was seen again in 2007 in St. Gallen with Les Misérables . In the same year he took on the role of Jack Seward in Frank Wildhorn's Dracula as part of the musical festival in Graz. At the Bad Hersfeld Festival, Six played the role of John Utterson in Jekyll & Hyde .

From 2009 to 2010 he was part of the ensemble, as well as cover Rudolf, in the German-language premiere of Rudolf - Affaire Mayerling in the Raimund Theater in Vienna . This was followed by the role of Malcolm MacGregor in The Full Monty at the Amstetten Festival and at the Deutsches Theater in Munich.

Since September 2012 he has been a Hungarian aristocrat, as well as cover death, in Elisabeth's anniversary production on the stage of the Raimund Theater in Vienna.

Work as a composer

His first works were created before his training as a musical performer. For example, he composed the musical Araquiri for the De Illusie theater (and played the role of Ayden himself).

After several years on the stage, he returned to composing. This is how the musical The Sound of the Sea was created in collaboration with Kai Hüsgen . Then they wrote (book, text: Kai Hüsgen, music: Rory Six) the musical When Rose Leaves Fall , which is based on the award-winning novel by Brigitte Minne. In 2008 a concept album was released with Pia Douwes , Thomas Hohler and Lucy Scherer . After a workshop with Carin Filipčić and Leigh Klinger, the piece premiered in 2010 under the name Een leeven zonder jouw (A Life Without You) in Amsterdam. Later it was u. a. played in Vienna and will soon be presented in English-speaking countries.
