Carin Filipčić

Carin Filipčić (born December 26, 1970 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musical performer and singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

biography

Born in Vienna, she studied singing with Jack Poppell and received her musical training in Vienna and Prague. For years she was engaged in ethnic Roma music under the direction of Ida Kelarova. After engagements in independent productions, she played Rizzo in GREASE in Basel and in the ensemble of the Duisburg production of LES MISERABLES. At the Theater an der Wien she was one of the original cast of the world premiere of MOZART! and was seen at the musical festival Bruck in JESUS ​​CHRIST SUPERSTAR, in CINDERELLA and in the title role of the STORY OF THE BIG PIG THAT WANTED TO BE THIN. At the Vienna Chamber Opera she played the double role Agnes / Linda in the COLE PORTER STORY and also as the double role Sarah / Martha in Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY. She performed as Madeline True in Werner Sobotka's production of THE WILD PARTY (German premiere) at the Amstettner Summer Festival; It was there that she was seen as Miss Sherman in FAME, which she also embodied at the Klagenfurt City Theater . She played SIMPL GOES MUSIC in the Viennese cabaret Simpl and appeared again as Maria Magdalena in JESUS ​​CHRIST SUPERSTAR at the Graz Opera.
