The Pink Funken Cologne from 1995 eV are a gay group in the Cologne Carnival . They were founded on November 11, 1995 in Cologne as the first gay carnival club in Germany. She made her first appearances at the Pink Meeting chaired by President Hella von Sinnen , whose television recordings she made known to a larger audience. The originally parodic style of the pink sparks soon became famous, and they were incorporated into the general Rhenish Carnival. In the meantime, they also appear at established carnival sessions of the Cologne Carnival. The stage programs consist of song and dance.

The most famous dance of the Pink Sparks is their own parodic version of the traditional Stippeföttche .

In designing their stage programs and choreographies, the Rosa Funken are supported by professional choreographers and directors such as Anne Grafweg , Ralf Hubertus Borgartz , Arne Hoffmann, Sten Kuth , Guido Markowitz , Lucas Theisen and Katja Baum.

In the 1997/1998 session there was a Pink Funken costume ball for the first time in the Mülheim city hall. The pink sparks award the Pipi'n Popo medal .

In June 2008 they sponsored two pink flamingos in Cologne Zoo .
