Rosa ("Rosel") Lettner (born Heisch ; born October 4, 1903 in Lützen ; † July 3, 1980 ) was a German politician ( KPD / SED ) and a woman official. She was the first chairwoman of the Democratic Women's Association of Germany (DFD) in the Halle district .

Life

Lettner was born the daughter of a bricklayer . After attending primary school , she worked as a maid and worker in a celluloid factory in Leipzig. Lettner joined the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) as early as 1920 during the Weimar Republic and ran for the Reichstag in 1933. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, she was imprisoned from March to October 1933.

After 1945, Lettner was a co-founder of the women's anti-fascist committee and employee of the city administration of Lützen. In 1946 she became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) and later worked as an instructor for women's work in the SED district leadership in the VEB Mansfeld Combine . From 1959 to 1964 she was first chairwoman of the DFD district board in Halle (successor to Hildegard Wunder). She was also a member of the district assembly and a member of the SED district leadership. After she was replaced by Ingeborg Hornbogen, she held the position of deputy chairwoman of the DFD district board in Halle for a few years.

Lettner last lived in Stolberg (Harz) .
