Rosalío Cortés Sánchez

Rosalío Cortés Sánchez (* 1820 in Leon , Nicaragua , † 1884 in Masaya ) was a member of the Duumvir , which formed the head of state of Nicaragua from October 19 to November 15, 1857 .

Life

Rosalío Cortés Sánchez married Juana Bolaños Flores. His daughter was Cándida Cortés Bolaños (1854-1918), who married Alejandro Bolaños (1858-1914). Rosalío Cortés Sánchez was a doctor, lawyer and member of the Partido Conservador de Nicaragua .

In 1852 he supported Fruto Chamorro Pérez's candidacy for president, together with Bishop José Jorge Viteri y Ungo .

In 1857 Rosalío Cortés Sánchez became the first mayor of Masaya. He was Minister of War and Foreign Affairs. He had the duumvir with Gregorio Juárez Sacasa from the Partido Liberal . With this he declared on November 8, 1857 before the constituent assembly that it was necessary to forget the reasons for the war and to emphasize the community and the heroism of the Guerra Nacional .
