Rosemarie Kerkow-Weil

Rosemarie Kerkow-Weil (born October 10, 1954 in Haßbergen ) is a German nursing and educational scientist .

Life

After training as a doctor's assistant and nurse , Rosemarie Kerkow-Weil worked at the Children's Hospital in Hanover from 1976 to 1987. From 1986 to 1991 she studied educational science at the University of Hanover . In 1999, she was there with a dissertation about the care of foreign patients doctorate .

After working as a pedagogical employee for the educational association Work and Life and as head of the department for health professions at the Senator for Health in Bremen , Kerkow-Weil was from 1997 first administrative professor for nursing science at the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Hanover , from 1999 then full professor and dean of the department of health care. From 2003 to 2007 she was Vice President of the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Hanover . After the merger with the Hanover University of Applied Sciences (now Hanover University of Applied Sciences ) , Kerkow-Weil also worked there as Vice President since 2008. In November 2010 she was elected president by the university senate, but was initially unable to take up the office due to complaints from a competitor. Since August 20, 2011, she has been president of the university, after she had already held this post on June 15, 2011. At the end of 2012, the university senate submitted an application for voting out. On January 11, 2013, the Senate approved the election of the four-member Presidium; however, a vote by the university council was negative. On March 15, 2013, Kerkow-Weil resigned from her position as President.

Since autumn 2013 she has been teaching at the HAWK Hochschule Hildesheim / Holzminden / Göttingen .

Since 1987 she has been married to the politician Stephan Weil , with whom she has a son.
