Rosemary Nicols

Rosemary Nicols , actually Rosemary Claxton (born October 28, 1941 in Bradford , Yorkshire , England ) is a British actress .

Life

Nicols had her first film role in 1950 in the crime film The Blue Lamp with Dirk Bogarde in one of the leading roles. She studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama and played in various theaters in London , including a production of Anatevka . In 1961 she had a small role in the war film The Guns of Navarone , after which she played guest roles in various television series . She was best known in Great Britain for her leading role in the series Department S , which was produced in 28 episodes from 1969 to 1970. After the series ended, she starred in a television adaptation of Ivan Turgenev's Fathers and Sons and had a recurring role in the soap opera General Hospital .

After marrying the author Frederick Mullally, she retired from acting in the late 1970s, and in 1981 she co-produced a television film about the eruption of the Mount St. Helens volcano .
