Simpiler rosary stations

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With the Simpiler Rosary Stations at Simplon-Dorf in the Swiss canton of Valais , it is possible to be accompanied by the Rosary concept on the way from the village to the Chapel of Our Lady on the Bleiken .

concept

Instead of consecutively stringing the secrets, as is usual with chapel paths, Pastor Josef Sarbach, the initiator of the path, provided five stations with three pillars each. Each of these five stations is formed by three pillars, each with a bronze plaque with a secret of the joyful, the painful and the glorious rosary. The templates for the bronze panels were created by the sculptor Hans Loretan . The plaques were cast in the art foundry Perseo SA in Mendrisio. The fifteen pillars, the granite of which comes from Val Antigorio , were made by the Bovere Graniti company in Premosello-Chiovenda . The Rosenkranzweg from Simplon-Dorf to Station 5 is 2 km long. From Station 5 to the Mother of God Chapel on the Bleiken it is another 300 meters slightly downhill.

The construction of the rosary stations was decided by the Simpiler Men's Association on March 26, 2000, following the proposal of the project commission. On October 13, 2002, the rosary stations were consecrated by Bishop Norbert Brunner . The information listed here and further details of the Rosary Stations are described in the booklet The Simpiler Rosary Stations .
