Rosmarie Zapfl-Helbling

Rosmarie Zapfl-Helbling (* 16th June 1939 in Rapperswil-Jona ) is a Swiss CVP - politician .

Life

She was the Swiss National Councilor from the 1995 to 2006 elections . From 1994 to 2001 she was Vice President of CVP Switzerland, and since 2002 she has been President of CVP International. She is or was a board member of various associations and foundations, such as the President of the Swiss women's umbrella organization Alliance F (2006-2014). Zapfl-Helbling is Vice President of the Swiss delegation to the Council of Europe .

She is married and has three children. The trained dressmaker also acquired a commercial training. In this function she was responsible for the administration of the painting business, which she ran with her husband for many years. She was in the large municipal council, in the city council and in the church administration of Dübendorf, until she became politically active from 1990 on at the cantonal and then on the national and international level. She joined the women's movement in 1970. Today she lives in Rüti / ZH and has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
