Rossignol is a French group of companies ( SA ) founded around 1907 . a. Manufactures skis , snowboards and winter sports accessories.

history

Rossignol also produced everyday clothing until 1950. In 1970 a subsidiary was founded in the United States together with the Italian sporting goods manufacturer Nordica .

In 2005 Rossignol merged with Quiksilver Inc. The previous principal shareholder of Rossignol, Laurent Boix-Vives, has become a member of the board of directors of Quiksilver and president of Roger Cleveland Golf Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Rossignol specializing in golf. The merger of the two companies with their world-famous brands and complementary activities created a large provider in the outdoor sector.

The outdoor market includes equipment and clothing for sports and leisure activities carried out in the open air. Quiksilver mainly covered the outdoor activities by the sea, whereas Rossignol stood primarily for the mountains and the following brands were part of the group:

Rossignol and the affiliated company Dynastar, Look and Lange moved from Quiksilver to the Australian group of companies Chartreuse & Mont Blanc in November 2008 .

Rossignol had to cut about a third of the jobs in 2009 and in 2010 brought some of the ski production back to France from abroad. In 2013, Rossignol, which had around 1200 employees at the time, was taken over by the Swedish holding company Altor .

In 2017 the bicycle manufacturer Felt Bicycles was taken over by the company .
