The Rotbachsee

The Rotbach Route is a cycle route in North Rhine-Westphalia . It runs between the lower reaches of the Lippe and Emscher (historical territory of Land Dinslaken ). It is based on the four rivers Rotbach , Rhine , Lippe and Emscher.

The path is signposted with the title “Rotbach Route” and the green arrow and bike shown below. The route is designed as a circular route and has a total length of 129 kilometers. The 18-kilometer section of the route along the Rotbach acts as a central axis dividing the circular route into a north route (44 km) and a south route (36 km). Between Friedrichsfeld and Hünxe , the route runs along the Wesel-Datteln Canal . An alternative route to Krudenburg branches off to the north near the Niederrhein substation and leads over the Lippe near Wesel- Obrighoven, which can be crossed in the summer by means of a self-operated yaw ferry .
