The participating nations were allowed to send a maximum of two teams into the race. Fritz Beier , ski paver from Igls and southern German bobsleigh champion last year, was unable to take part in the world championships for financial reasons and was replaced by the two-man Volckmar / Kaltenberger bobsleigh . The track record was improved to 1: 50.7 minutes in “wonderful winter weather” during the third run by the teams Switzerland I and Germany II. The German bobsleigh with Hanns Kilian and Sebastian Huber became world champion after four runs and thus the winner of the “Honorary Prize of the Reich President von Hindenburg ” .
