1962 World Bobsleigh Championship

The 21st Bobsleigh World Championship took place on January 20, 21 and 30, 1962 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , Germany. The new world champions were the Italians Rinaldo Ruatti and Enrico De Lorenzo in the two-man bobsleigh and Germany II in the four-man bobsleigh. Eugenio Monti , who has won multiple titles since 1957, was unable to qualify for the Italian world championship team in 1962.

Bob Germany I with Franz Schelle and Otto Göbl , fourth after two runs, fell in the third run, causing Schelle to suffer severe head injuries.
