The 52nd Bobsleigh World Championship took place on February 24th and 25th, 2004 in Königssee in Germany . The World Cup was held for the third time in Königssee.

Erdmann won a medal for the third time in a row and had a different brakeman each time. Fourth place Yvonne Cernota died two weeks later in a training accident on the same bobsled run.
