1966 World Bobsleigh Championship
The 24th Bobsleigh World Championship took place in 1966 on the Pista olimpica di bob in Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy . Cortina hosted the World Cup for the sixth time.
The four-man bobsleigh competition was canceled after the fatal accident of the German Anton Pensperger . He received the gold medal posthumously as well as his team members Ludwig Siebert , Helmut Wurzer and Roland Eberhart .
