Redhead day
The Red Haired Day ( Dutch Roodharigendag ) has been an annual event since 2007 on the last weekend in August or the first weekend in September. Until 2018 it took place in the Dutch city of Breda . Since 2019, the Redhead days have been taking place in Tilburg , about 30 km away . The purpose of this event is for people with natural red hair to come together and promote the phenomenon and art surrounding red hair. The event was unique for a long time and is attended by participants from all over the world. There are now internationally independent offshoots, for example since 2018 in Hamburg or since 2009 in Crosshaven , Ireland.
In relation to Tilburg, a theme and color is selected for each event each year. The group photo of the redheads is made in clothes of the same color. During the two-day event, lectures, workshops and demonstrations will take place that are specifically aimed at red-haired people. Attendance at the event is free through sponsorship from the local government and its partners.
