The Rotten-Verlag is a Swiss publishing house , which was founded in 1973 with the purpose of customs and culture in the German- Wallis promote. The Rotten Verlag functions legally as a stock corporation, which is led by a four-person board of directors.
The name Rotten refers to the upper reaches of the Rhone in Upper Valais. With over 400 published books, Rotten Verlag is the largest and most important book publisher for German-speaking Valais.
Two of his publications received an award in the competition The Most Beautiful Swiss Books . Outstanding achievements in book design and production were awarded by the Federal Office of Culture .
On March 1, 2012, Rotten Verlag AG was integrated into Mengis Druck und Verlag AG.
Publishing program
A focus of the publishing house are picture-text volumes that deal with the customs and culture of the German-speaking Valais. There are also books on many municipalities and districts in the canton. Under the nostalgia series Do you remember , volumes appear separated by region and deal with the Upper Valais in the past few days. Hiking maps and fiction can also be found in the publisher's range. The Walliser Jahrbuch , which first appeared in 1932, is published annually . It is not only a collection of articles and chronicles , but also a periodical that documents the history of the canton .
Under the name romm - rotten multimedia, there has been a publishing association between Rotten Verlag and the radio station RRO since 2001 , under which audio books and multimedia CDs are sold. The publishing group Rotten Verlag AG, Editions Monographic SA and Drosera SA publishes writings and multimedia products on the landscape and population in the canton of Valais under the name ITERAMA.
