Radio Rottu Oberwallis , spelled radio rottu Oberwallis (rro), is a private radio station in the Oberwallis region ( Switzerland ). It first went on air on November 11, 1990. The station is a format radio and primarily plays hits and songs by local Upper Valais performers. The name is derived from the central Walliser river, the Rhone , which is called Rotten in German and Rottu in Walliser German . The radio studio is located in the Hofji in Visp . One outdoor studio is located in the Stockalper Castle in Brig and one in the rro studio Barrique in Eyholz.

The share capital of radio rottu oberwallis AG is divided as follows: Valaiscom AG ( Quickline network) 25.22%, Mengis Druck & Verlag AG ( Walliser Bote ) 25.6% and individual shareholders 49.18%.

In addition to the main program , radio rottu Oberwallis operates other special-interest programs , the rrotv information channel and the Oberwallis internet portal rro.ch (including app ).

Under the name romm - rotten multimedia , a publishing association has existed since 2001 between Rotten Verlag, which belongs to the Mengis Group, and the radio station rro , under which audio books and multimedia CDs are sold.
