Rotterdam Rail Feeding
Rotterdam Rail Feeding (RRF) is a Dutch railway company based in Rotterdam . RRF belongs to the American company Genesee and Wyoming and had 35 employees in the year it was taken over by G&W.
history
RRF was founded in 2004 as a subsidiary of the railway personnel service provider Spoorflex. Operations began the following year. Shunting services began in the Maasvlakte marshalling yard belonging to the port of Rotterdam . In the following years, the company expanded its own business operations and bought its own locomotives. Transport services are carried out between the transfer stations and the loading terminals in the port of Rotterdam. Furthermore, in cooperation with the parent company, locomotives and personnel are provided for construction and maintenance companies. On April 15, 2008, the acquisition by the American railroad company Genesee and Wyoming was announced. The purchase price was $ 21.4 million.
The company has been operating freight traffic throughout the Netherlands since 2009, and shunting services have been provided in the Belgian port of Antwerp since April 2011 .
