The Rotvatnet is a small lake on the island of Langøya in Vesterålen .
The lake is located in the northwest of the island in the area of community Øksnes in Fylke (Province) Nordland . It is located about 1000 m to the west above the coastal road Fylkesvei 955 ("Sminesvei"), which ends there at the end of a peninsula, directly opposite the island of Skogsøya to the north , in the small settlement Smines with its jetty.
The approximately 150 × 100 m large lake drains directly into the European Arctic Ocean via an approximately 1 km long mountain stream to the east .
