The Route of the Monasteries of Valencia ( Spanish Ruta de los Monasterios de Valencia ) is a long-distance hiking trail that starts in the city of Gandía ( ) on the Spanish Mediterranean coast and ends after about 90 kilometers in Alzira ( ) inland. In its course through the central region of the province of Valencia , it touches five important monastery complexes, whose origins go back to the 13th century. The route was established in 2008, it is marked as GR 236 . In addition to the footpath, which can be covered in about four days, there is the possibility of driving to the sights.
