Rouven Roessler (born November 14, 1980 in Bad Bergzabern , Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a German basketball player.

Career

Until 2000, Rouven Roessler played for his youth club TV Bad Bergzabern, when he attracted the attention of the then second division club BG Post / Südstern Karlsruhe. This was followed by a successful development into one of the team's top performers, which reached its preliminary climax in 2003 with promotion to the basketball league and appointment to the A2 national team. After a season full of injuries (before the 05/06 season, Rouven Roessler had to undergo a knee operation; in the fifth game of the season he then suffered a complicated wrist fracture, due to which he was absent from eleven games of the season), he decided to do a "new Beginning "and signed a two-year contract with the Giessen 46ers before the 2006/2007 season.

In the summer of 2008 Roessler was appointed first for the A2, then later for the A national team of the German Basketball Federation and made his debut on June 28, 2008 in the international match against Poland in the German national basketball team .

After the 2007/2008 season, Roessler left the Gießen 46ers and moved to the traditional Spanish second division club Cáceres 2016 Baloncesto , with whom he signed a contract for one year with the option for another year. Private reasons were responsible for the termination of the contract. Thereupon Rouven Roessler surprisingly returned to his former club BG Karlsruhe in the 2nd basketball league and signed a two-year contract there. In 2016 he ended his professional playing career there, but continued to play (in addition to his coaching activities) in the amateur field. He strengthened the upper division TSV Berghausen, then TV Bad Bergzabern (2nd regional league) and moved to KIT SC Karlsruhe in the 1st regional league for the 2018/19 season .

Trainer

From 2013 he coached the men's team of TSV Berghausen in the major league alongside his playing career. For the 2016/17 season he took over the head coach of the second women's team in the 2nd Bundesliga at Rutronik Stars Keltern and remained in office until the team withdrew from the 2017/18 season.
