John 'Rove' McManus (born January 21, 1974 in Perth , Western Australia ) is a comedy star on Australian television and co-founder and owner of the production company Roving Enterprise .

John McManus II was the second son of the marriage between John and Coralie McManus. McManus grew up in Riverton and first attended the Orana Catholic Primary School and then the Corpus Christi College in Bateman.

After graduating from high school, McManus tried his hand at stand-up comedian on local Perth television. In 1995, however, he left Perth and moved to Melbourne to get his own TV show on the local channel 31, which he called The Loft Live . He already performed there with his long-term partners Peter Helliar and Corinne Grant .

In September 1999, Channel Nine Network aired a pilot series of Rove Live .
