Rowan Cheshire (born September 1, 1995 in Crewe ) is a British freestyle skier who starts in the halfpipe .
Career
Cheshire made her international debut at an FIS race in La Plagne in February 2011. As fourth, she barely missed her first podium in the halfpipe and started in the European Cup from October 2011. In Saas-Fee she came eighth in the halfpipe. On August 22, 2012, Cheshire finally made her debut in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup . As 18th in Cardrona , she collected her first World Cup points. She also scored points in Park City and at the Olympic test in Sochi .
At the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in 2013 , she did not reach the final as 17th in the qualification. At the following Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco , she achieved a first respectable success by winning the bronze medal. In the World Cup season 2013/14 started with Cheshire points successes in Cardrona and Copper Mountain before in Calgary won her first World Cup in January, 2014.
She then traveled to Sochi as a member of the British team for the 2014 Winter Olympics. On February 16, 2014, she suffered a concussion while falling while exercising. She fell on her face and was passed out for a few minutes. As a result, the association had to cancel their start in the halfpipe.
