The Roxo ( Portuguese Ribeira do Roxo ) is a river in the Alentejo region of Portugal that flows through the districts of Beja and Setúbal . In its upper course it is dammed up into a reservoir by the Roxo dam, then flows in a westerly direction and flows into the Sado about five kilometers above the small town of Alvalade .
