Roy Glenn

Roy E. Glenn senior (born June 3, 1914 in Pittsburg , Kansas , † March 12, 1971 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

Life

The Afro-American Glenn began his radio career and was seen in small extras in films from the 1930s. After a lengthy period of inactivity, he took on a supporting role in the film The Jackie Robinson Story in 1950 . This was followed by various appearances on the Amos' n Andy Show , which paved the way for further film and television roles.

In 1961 he was on the side of Sidney Poitier in A Raisin in the Sun to be seen. He took on his best-known role in 1967, again at Poitier's side, in the comedy drama Rat mal, who comes to dinner .

Glenn died in Los Angeles, California, aged 56, of cardiovascular disease.
