Roy Thinnes

Roy Thinnes (born April 6, 1938 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor , best known for portraying David Vincent in the science fiction series Invasion of Vega .

Life

Thinnes began to take on minor roles in television series in the late 1950s. Between his engagements he worked as a hotel secretary and as a representative for vitamins.

He had a first respectable success in 1965 with General Hospital , but it was not until 1967 through his role of the architect David Vincent , who happened to find out about the invasion of the aliens and then had to convince "an unbelieving world" that "the silent invasion" had already begun has become a cult star.

Thinnes married his Wega co-star Lynn Loring , with whom he also starred in the film Accident in Space (1969). In the 1970s he was seen in Giants in the Sky (1974) and Die Hindenburg (1975).

But he remained essentially a television actor. So he played alongside Jane Wyman in Falcon Crest and Chris Carter used him as the alien Jeremiah Smith in three episodes of The X-Files: The FBI's Creepy Cases .

In 1995 he was allowed to return as David Vincent (in a mini-role) in a television miniseries .
