Rubén Fuentes

Rubén Fuentes Gassón (born February 15, 1926 in Ciudad Guzmán ) is a Mexican classical violinist and composer .

Fuentes is best known for its mariachis . In 1944 he joined Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán as a violinist and later became an arranger . In 1955 he stopped playing with the group, but remained musical producer, director and arranger.

Rubén Fuentes wrote dozens of famous Mexican songs such as La Negra , La Culebra , Las Alazanas , Como Si Nada , La Bikina , Que Bonita Es Mi Tierra , Flor Sin Retoño , Ni Princesa Ni Esclava and Camino Real de Colima - many along with Silvestre Vargas . Fuentes produced traditional music with Linda Ronstadt . His songs have been interpreted by Miguel Aceves Mejía , Vikki Carr , Pedro Infante , Marco Antonio Muñiz , Javier Solís , Julio Iglesias and Luis Miguel , among others .

Rubén Fuentes was the musical director of RCA Records de México in the 1950s and 60s . He was the arranger and musical producer of many of the greatest singers of the Música Ranchera , mostly accompanied by El Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán. Fuentes was also the arranger of most of the songs by the Mexican singer and composer José Alfredo Jiménez and has written the music for many films.
