Rubén Pellejero (born December 20, 1952 in Badalona ) is a Spanish cartoonist .

Artistic career

Pellejero, who previously worked as an illustrator, published his first comic, Historias de una Barcelona, in the Spanish comic magazine Cimoc in 1982 . Shortly thereafter, he began working with the Argentine author Jorge Zentner . In 1983 Las memorias de Monsieur Griffaton (German: The Memoirs of Mr. Griffaton ) and 1984 Historias en FM (German: FM - on the right wavelength ) were created for the magazine. In 1985 the series Dieter Lumpen for the comic magazine Cairo followed .

In the 1990s, Pellejero and Zentner worked for the French comic magazine (À suivre) . There another story with Dieter Lumpen was written there in 1993 , Le silence de Malka in 1995 about a Jewish migrant family and several short stories. Both authors also published 2002-2003 with Âromm a two-part work on an archaic tribe in Central Asia. From the turn of the millennium, Pellejero also worked with the French author Denis Lapière and drew a total of four with Un peu de fumée bleue (2000), Le tour de valse (2004) and L'impertinence d'un été (2 parts; 2009 and 2010) Albums for the French publisher Dupuis . In 2006–2007, Dupuis also produced the two-part L'écorché, a contribution to Frank Giroud's Secrets series .

Together with the author Juan Díaz Canales, Pellejero will be producing sequels for Corto Maltese from 2015 . In 2015, the current series appeared as number 13 in German translation at Schreiber & Leser the band under the midnight sun of the band, in 2017 Equatoria and 2020 Tarowean - Day of surprises .

Publications in German

Most of the works that Pellejeros created for the Spanish market were also published in German between 1989 and 1991. The Dieter Lumpen story Le prix de Charon , written for (À suivre) 1993, is included in German in the complete edition of Finix Comics from 2014.
