Ruben Zadkovich (born May 23, 1986 in Sydney ) is an Australian football player .
Club career
Zadkovich left Australia in 2004 and was accepted into the youth division of the English club Queens Park Rangers . In March 2005, he moved to fourth division Notts County on a free transfer and was able to score a goal on his league debut. Eight months later, he left Notts County and returned to Australia, where he received a short-term contract from Sydney FC in early 2006 and was able to play directly into the team. He won the first Grand Final of the newly created A-League with the club against the Central Coast Mariners 1-0. Following that season, Zadkovich received a two-year contract with Sydney.
For the 2008/09 season, Zadkovich moved again to England and signed a two-year contract with the second division Derby County . There he came in his first season as a substitute player to seven missions, after he returned to the following season injured from the Olympic Games, he made the jump to the squad and his contract was finally terminated in January 2010.
Then Zadkovich returned to Australia and received a three-year contract with A-League club Newcastle United Jets for the 2010/11 season. He remained in the midfield as a regular until 2014. He then moved to Perth Glory .
National team
Zadkovich took part with the Australian U-20 national team in the 2005 Junior World Cup in the Netherlands and came out on two occasions in the preliminary round. With the Australian Olympic selection , he qualified for the 2008 Olympic tournament in China and was named to the final squad in July. He scored Australia's only tournament goal in a 1-1 draw with Serbia.
In June 2008, Zadkovich made his debut as a right full-back in the World Cup qualifier against China in the Australian senior team . Zadkovich owed a penalty in the 1-0 defeat, but it went unused.
