The Rudawa is a 35.4 km long tributary of the Vistula , into which it flows in the Zwierzyniec district of Kraków ( Lesser Poland Voivodeship ). In the city the river is forced into an artificial bed.

The Rudawa rises next to the village of the same name , not far from Krzeszowice and Zabierzów . In Mydlniki, a district of Krakow, their drinking water for this city is taken.

Between 1903 and 1912 the old Rudawa river bed was filled in by the Błonia meadows . Since then, the water has been flowing like the old Rudawa-Mühlbach .

Larger tributaries are Będkówka, Kobylanka, Kluczwoda, Wierzchówka and Potok Olszanicki.
