Rudi Bertram

Rudolf (Rudi) Bertram (born October 17, 1955 in Eschweiler ) is the full-time mayor of the city of Eschweiler and a member of the SPD . He also sits on the advisory board of EVS EUREGIO Verkehrsschienennetz GmbH (EVS) . On December 9, 2016, he was awarded the badge of honor by the Social Democratic Community for Local Politics (SGK) .

Life

After training as an administrative clerk at the Eschweiler city council, Bertram graduated in 1981 with a degree in administrative management . In politics in Eschweiler he was head of the department for schools, culture and sport from 1991 to 1999 and chairman of the staff council from 1991 to 1999 .

Bertram has been the mayor of the city of Eschweiler since 1999. On September 12, 1999, he was elected in the first direct election with 51.5% of the votes and re-elected on September 24, 2004 with 72.5% and on August 30, 2009 with 72.0%. In the mayoral election on May 25, 2014, he again received an absolute majority with 68.72% of the votes cast.

Bertram is married to Hedi Bertram.

The "Willi Bertram Stadium" is named after his late father Willi Bertram, councilor of the SPD parliamentary group in the city council of Eschweiler and from 1975 to 1990 chairman of SV Falke Bergrath .
