Rudi Häusler is a former German skeleton athlete .

Rudi Häusler was the outstanding German skeleton pilot in the 1970s. At the German Championships, which throughout the decade were held in Königssee , Häusler was on the podium for the first time in 1972 when he won the bronze medal behind Reto Gansser and Heinrich Platzer . His heyday began in 1973 when he won his first title. Apart from the following year, when Josef Grubmüller was able to push him back to second place, Häussler won all possible six titles by 1979. He was German record champion until 2000, when Willi Schneider surpassed him with his seventh title. In 1984 he was again runner- up behind Hans Kindl at the German Championships in Winterberg . Häusler was also very successful at the Bavarian Championships. In 1975, 1976, 1977, 1989, 1980 and 1983 he won the titles.
