Rudolf Amthauer

Rudolf Amthauer (born December 19, 1920 in Iserlohn ; † September 30, 1989 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German psychologist. In particular, he is known for developing the Intelligence Structure Test (IST), first published in 1953 .

Career

Amthauer began studying psychology at the University of California at Berkeley as a prisoner of war in 1944 . From 1946 he studied at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and received his doctorate in 1952 with a thesis on intelligence measurement , from which the IST resulted.

From 1953 he worked for the Hoechst company , initially as a research assistant, later as head of the company's own education system. He held this position until 1983. He was also a lecturer for industrial and industrial psychology at the State Engineering School for Mechanical Engineering in Frankfurt and the Goethe University in Frankfurt . He was also involved in the preparation and implementation of the XIX. Participation in the World Congress of the International Society for Applied Psychology. In 2000 the completely revised test IST-2000 was published posthumously by the authors Brocke, Liepmann and Beauducel under his co-authorship.
