Rudolf Distler
Rudolf Distler (* 1946 in Unterkirchberg , today in Illerkirchberg ) is a German artist.
Life
Distler learned the profession of lithographer in Ulm from 1961 to 1964 and then worked as a potter. He is also considered a painter. In 1969 he turned to the fantastic realist Rudolf Hausner in Vienna, who found him unsuitable for studying at the academy on the grounds that Distler was already a finished artist.
In 1970 Distler moved with his wife to Praiano on the Gulf of Salerno . After eight years he moved back to Germany and settled in Aschau im Chiemgau . Since 1992 he has been the artistic director of the Kunstverein Kunst und Kultur zu Hohenaschau e. V. In 1995 he founded the Hohenaschau Summer Academy.
