Rudolf Geißler (draftsman)
Rudolf Karl Gottfried Geißler (born January 15, 1834 in Nuremberg ; † September 15, 1906 there ) was a German draftsman, etcher and watercolorist.
After taking his first painting lessons from his father, the painter Peter Carl Geißler , he studied from 1851 to 1857 at the Nuremberg Art School with Albert Christoph Reindel and August von Kreling .
He then continued his studies at the Dresden Art Academy with Ludwig Richter . From 1861 he worked again in Nuremberg. Later he was appointed professor at the Nuremberg Art School .
Geissler illustrated numerous children's and fairy tale books. From 1867 to 1882 his works appeared in the " Gartenlaube ".
