Rudolf Edmund Ludwig Goldschmidt (born September 15, 1896 in Pforzheim , † April 2, 1976 in Karlsruhe ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Rudolf Goldschmidt, son of a factory owner, studied law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, among others . In 1919 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Tübingen . After passing the 1st and 2nd state examinations in law, he joined the Baden interior administration in mid-1923, where he initially worked in the Baden Ministry of Labor in the construction and housing department. In October 1924 he moved to the police department of the Baden Ministry of the Interior. In 1926 he was promoted to the government council and, as personal assistant to the ministerial director, was among other things responsible for processing personnel matters for the higher service. In 1929 he came to the Karlsruhe district office as a government councilor . In 1934 he was appointed district administrator of the Meßkirch district office and in 1936 of the Stockach district. Although he joined the NSDAP in 1937 , he was appointed as a politically motivated deportation, initially provisionally and in 1938 as director of the Baden municipal auditing office. When this office ceased its duties in 1939/40, it was used in the business area of ​​interior administration and in the interior ministry in the welfare and personnel department. In September 1944 he was drafted into military service and was taken prisoner of war, from which he was released in 1946.

In November 1946 he got a job with the President of the Baden District in Karlsruhe in the internal administration department. In 1948 he was appointed government councilor and in 1950 promoted to senior government councilor. From 1952 he headed the municipal and savings bank department in the administrative district of North Baden . In 1953 he received the official title of government director, in 1957 he became a planned government director. In April 1959 he became managing director and, in December, planned government vice president of the administrative district of North Baden. He retired at the end of 1962.
