Rudolf Hübner (* 1837 in Pillau , Samland ; † 1904 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a German bookseller.

With literary and artistic talent, Hübner opened the Hübner & Matz bookstore in Königsberg in 1867 with Heinrich Matz , which was connected to an art and music shop . With his brother-in-law Robert Ellendt , Hübner founded the Königsberg Artists' Concerts in 1871. After seeing the world premiere of Georges Bizet's “Carmen” in Paris in 1875 , he recommended it to the director of the Königsberg City Theater , the baritone Max Staegemann, despite the failure . He arranged for the Imperial German premiere of the opera on October 26, 1879. It was a complete success, which initiated its worldwide triumph.

After Hübner's death, the Jüterbock music store succeeded the Hübner & Matz company .
