Rudolf Hatschek (neurologist)

Rudolf Hatschek (born May 25, 1865 , † May 31, 1921 ) was an Austrian neurologist and health resort doctor in Graefenberg ( Austrian Silesia ).

Life

Rudolf Hatschek worked in Vienna at the University's 1st Medical Clinic as assistant to Hermann Nothnagel , and later worked at the Neurological Institute under Heinrich Obersteiner . From 1909 he was head of the sanatorium founded by Vincenz Prießnitz in Graefenberg for nervous, internal and metabolic diseases as well as for those in need of relaxation . In winter he continued to research at the Neurological Institute in Vienna.

In 1913 Hatschek was diagnosed with a brain tumor and operated on by Anton von Eiselsberg , whereupon his eyesight was severely damaged. Another intervention by Eiselsberg followed in 1920. Otfrid Foerster removed a recurrence in the frontal lobe in February 1921 . Rudolf Hatschek died on May 31, 1921 as a result of this intervention.
