Rudolf Hecker (physicist)

Rudolf Hecker (born September 9, 1926 in Cologne , † November 19, 2014 in Konstanz ) was a German physicist.

Rudolf Hecker studied physics and was awarded a Dr. rer. nat. PhD. In 1963 he completed his habilitation in Aachen. From 1971 he worked in the solid state research department at the Jülich nuclear research facility . In 1972 he was appointed associate professor for experimental physics and in 1976 he was appointed university professor for experimental nuclear technology at the Technical University of Aachen and director of the Institute for Reactor Development at KFA Jülich .

He wrote several books and numerous scientific papers on the subject of reactor safety.
