Rudolf Hermsdorf (born December 29, 1926 ) is a former German soccer player. For Turbine Erfurt he was active from 1952 to 1956 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football .

Athletic career

Until 1952, Hermsdorf played for the Thuringian company sports association (BSG) unit Sonneberg in the third-class state league Thuringia. While still a Sonneberg player, he was appointed to the squad of the so-called core team, which was formed to prepare for the future GDR international matches.

For the 1952/53 season he moved to the GDR upper division Turbine Erfurt to replace the retired striker Helmut Lipper . Hermsdorf was used from the start in the league games and played both as a half right and half left attacker. When he had played eleven point games, he had to sideline for many weeks and only returned to the league team on matchday 18 and played nine of the ten outstanding games by the end of the season. He came up with seven point game goals. In 1953/54 Turbine Erfurt became GDR champion for the first time. Hermsdorf was involved with 25 of 28 played point games and five goals. Hermsdorf also played a decisive role in successfully defending his title in the 1954/55 season with his 24 stakes (out of 26) and three goals. In both seasons he had been used as a half-left striker.

In the fall of 1955, a transition round was carried out in GDR football, which served to change the rhythm of the game in the calendar year. Hermsdorf was used nine times in the 13 games of the top division round. Hermsdorf entered the game year 1956 at the age of 29.
