Rudolf Kloiber

Rudolf Kloiber (born November 14, 1899 in Munich ; † December 12, 1973 there ) was a German conductor , musicologist and music writer.

Rudolf Kloiber studied conducting, piano, music theory and opera directing at the Munich Academy of Music and Music, and musicology at the Ludwig Maximilians University . In this subject he received his doctorate in 1928 on the composer Christian Cannabich . From 1921 he worked as an opera and concert conductor , from 1935 at the Regensburg Theater and from 1950 to 1958 with the Swabian Symphony Orchestra in Reutlingen , which later became the Württemberg Philharmonic .

He became particularly well-known as the author of various music manuals, which are still very popular today because of their factual and well-founded presentation.
